About Biological Monitoring, Inc. (BMI): BMI is an environmental consulting firm located in the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center. The firm has been in existence since 1980 and specializes in environmental risk assessments, aquatic toxicology, and other environmental issues. Employees gain a wide variety of valuable experience in the environmental sciences.
Job Description: The selected candidate will be required to assist in routine aquatic macroinvertebrate studies. This may include sample collection, specimen sorting, identification down to Genus level (excluding chironomids), data assessments and report preparation. Applicant should be familiar with the use of dichotomous keys. Most of the work will be conducted at BMI.
Candidate Requirements: A good work ethic and a strong desire to gain experience in the field of aquatic biology. Applicants must be available on a flexible basis, including weekends. Applicants must be in good health. Applicants must be available to work immediately. Salary will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
