About Biological Monitoring, Inc. (BMI): BMI is an environmental consulting firm located in the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center. The firm has been in existence since 1980 and specializes in environmental risk assessments, aquatic toxicology, and other environmental issues. Employees gain a wide variety of valuable experience in the environmental sciences.
Job Description: The successful candidate will be required to participate in laboratory studies and aquatic field surveys. This includes the conduct of laboratory aquatic bioassays, stream sampling, and data management. Although most of the work will be conducted at BMI, some travel may be required. For the first month or so, this work will be comprised of mostly field work. This is a full-time position, requiring at least 30 h per week.
Candidate Requirements: A good work ethic and a strong desire to gain experience in a laboratory environment. Applicants must be available on a flexible basis, including weekends. Applicants must be in good health. Applicants must be available to work immediately. Salary will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
