VPT, Inc. is currently seeking an IT Administrator III to primarily lead advanced technical support for end users, with a secondary focus on Microsoft Business Central (BC) / ERP systems and SQL databases. In this role, you will provide expert-level assistance to users, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of critical business applications. Knowledge of Python is a plus, allowing for additional automation and efficiency enhancements across IT operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Tier 3 Helpdesk Support: Provide top-tier support for Microsoft BC/ERP applications, resolving escalated issues from the helpdesk and working directly with end users to ensure problems are solved efficiently.
• Advanced Troubleshooting: Lead the troubleshooting process for complex technical issues involving Microsoft BC/ERP systems, SQL databases, and related IT infrastructure.
• End User Assistance: Serve as the primary point of contact for senior-level helpdesk issues, guiding end users through troubleshooting, configuration, and optimization of their software and hardware environments.
• Application Support: Support Microsoft BC/ERP applications, addressing user concerns, managing system updates, and ensuring smooth day-to-day functionality.
• SQL Database Support: Assist with the maintenance, querying, and troubleshooting of SQL databases to ensure data integrity and efficient reporting processes.
• Automation & Scripting (Bonus): Utilize Python,Powershell, and Tanium (optional but preferred) to streamline repetitive helpdesk tasks, enhance reporting, or improve data handling and application performance.
• Incident Management: Track, document, and escalate incidents as necessary, ensuring timely and effective resolution while maintaining strong communication with users and stakeholders.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with other IT teams, including network administrators and system engineers, to solve multi-layered issues that span across different areas of the IT infrastructure.
• System & Process Documentation: Maintain detailed logs, manuals, and documentation of helpdesk procedures, solutions, and configurations to streamline future troubleshooting and knowledge transfer.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent work experience will be considered.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in IT helpdesk or technical support, with a focus on Microsoft BC/ERP systems and SQL database environments.
• Technical Skills:
○ Strong proficiency in Microsoft BC/ERP support, troubleshooting, and administration.
○ Solid understanding of SQL databases and basic maintenance, query, and optimization techniques.
○ Experience with Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Azure, and O365 and desktop/laptop troubleshooting.
○ Python, Powershell, etc. scripting knowledge (preferred but not required) for automation and efficiency improvements.
• Customer Service: Proven ability to deliver excellent end-user support in a high-paced, solution-oriented environment.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex technical issues with minimal supervision.
• Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication, both verbal and written, with technical and non-technical users.
Bonus Skills:
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Power Automate, or Azure services.
• Background in supporting ERP systems in industries such as manufacturing, finance, or logistics.
