The open-atmosphere MELD process is capable of printing large metal parts at a scale not yet seen in the metal additive market. The company’s mission is to deliver reliable equipment using its award winning, patented technology to print in any metal, at unsurpassed speed, at any size, with forged properties.
About the Speaker:
Chase D. Cox, Ph.D, Vice President at MELD Manufacturing, has spent more than 10 years working on advanced manufacturing processes (welding, additive manufacturing), enabling these technologies for the aerospace, space, defense, automotive, and oil & gas industries. He has a B.S. in Physics from Austin Peay and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
His work on the development of complex mechanical devices and advanced control systems for these processes has focused on aluminum alloys, titanium alloys, MMCs, and high strength steels. He has spent the last 5 years working to develop a global-market for the MELD technology through strategic alignment of process capability and technology development with the needs of aerospace, space, and defense industry needs.
