Wordsprint is a marketing services provider specializing in multi-channel marketing and fundraising campaigns for colleges, technology companies, and non-profit organizations. Wordsprint’s specialties include graphic design, printing, and direct mail services.
“Utilizing state-of-the art variable data technology, we help clients build one-on-one relationships with individuals through print marketing, as opposed to broadcast marketing to the masses,” said President Bill Gilmer.
With two locations in Southwest Virginia, Wordsprint has a graphic design studio, a database management department, a print shop, and a mail house all under one roof. “Some clients use us as a branding and design consultant or a database management partner; many use us as a print shop and/or as a mail house – but our real strength is combining all these aspects to create and sustain unified marketing campaigns,” Gilmer said.
In 2012, Wordsprint was awarded its third Platinum RAVE Award for outstanding customer service in a competition sponsored by Epicomm, the national association for printers, mailers, and marketing service providers. Since 2008, the company has twice been ranked #1 in the nation in client satisfaction, once scoring an unprecedented 21% superiority over competitors. “Interestingly, the analytical model used in these contests is the same approach that we employ when designing customer satisfaction surveys for our clients. We call it the ‘bear in the woods’ approach – and if you’ll come visit us, we’ll explain what that means!” Gilmer said.
Wordsprint is always working on exciting projects. At any given moment, they have between 200 and 300 active projects. In one of their current projects, they’re working with an area college to boost recruitment, utilizing state-of-the-art demographic targeting techniques to identify high school students with “best fit” potential, then contacting these individuals with variable data mailers, followed by personal emails from assigned college counselors. Both mailer and email point the student to a personalized landing page where they are encouraged to sign up for an open house visit and opt-in for further contact via phone or text, or even download the college’s web app. This multi-channel approach has so far garnered a 37% higher return than any previous single-channel campaign.
Wordsprint’s lease at the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center (VTCRC) started April 1, 2015. “The VTCRC is a good location for Wordsprint geographically, to serve our clients in the Roanoke and New River Valleys; it offers outstanding bandwidth for Internet marketing and it’s full of companies with people much smarter than we are! We’re looking forward to learning a lot from our new neighbors,” Gilmer said.
Wordsprint will be having a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on June 30, 2015 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Please stop by and learn about their services, enjoy a complimentary lunch and talk with staff.
