This is a Careers Position

The successful candidate will be required to participate in laboratory studies and aquatic field surveys. This includes the conduct of laboratory aquatic bioassays, stream sampling, and data management. Although most of the work will be conducted at BMI, some travel may be required. For the first month or so, this work will be comprised of mostly field work. This is a full-time position, requiring at least 30 hours per week.

Our Story

Our Facilities

Located in Blacksburg, VA, BMI is a certified small business with labs that have been custom-built to provide National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP) accredited testing.

Our custom-built analytical laboratory facilities are designed for static and flow-through bioassay systems. Freshwater and saltwater species are maintained for Whole Effluent Toxicity (WET) testing.

BMI has designed and implemented a rigorous quality assurance program that satisfies all U.S. EPA requirements. Key elements include thorough documentation of procedures and training of laboratory personnel who are routinely audited and certified. In addition, BMI employs both a Project Director and a Quality Assurance Officer to supervise all of our services.
