Rotary International (https://www.rotary.org/), is a service organization with clubs all over the world. The town of Blacksburg has a vibrant Rotary Club, including a satellite club that meets in the CRC on the first and third Tuesday of each month. The timing and duration of these meetings (5:30pm – 6:15pm) is meant to appeal to local working professionals who might like to learn about interesting happenings in the New River Valley and hear about volunteer opportunities, but don’t necessarily have time for long weekly meetings. Join us in the Concept conference room — 1880 Pratt Drive, upstairs in Suite 2018, or for more information contact Michael Abraham (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Mary Pettitt (email@example.com).
Rotary members believe that we have a shared responsibility to take action on our world’s most persistent issues. For more than 110 years, our guiding principles have been the foundation of our values: service, fellowship, diversity, integrity, and leadership.
Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who come together to make positive, lasting change in communities at home and abroad. Solving real problems takes real commitment and vision. Since 1905, Rotary members have used their passion, energy, and intelligence to take action on sustainable projects. From literacy and peace to water and health, we are always working to make our world a better place. One Rotarian at a time. We stay committed to the end. Past projects include the Nature Play Area at Heritage Park, Micah’s Initiative, Adopt-A-Spot at the intersection of Prices Fork Rd/Route 460, garden maintenance at the International Peace Garden, Wong Park, Talbot Park, sponsorship of the Rotary Bike Skills park. We give globally to schools in Malawi, Water in Ghana, Bridges in Haiti, and the Hope to Walk program. We purchase ShelterBoxes and support the eradication of Polio.
